Automatic welding carriages are widely used in industries such as shipbuilding, bridge construction, locomotive manufacturing, steel structures, and petrochemical engineering. They are suitable for welding various structural joints, including stiffeners, gussets, cross joints, and box girder welds. The key advantages include:
- Reduced labor intensity and improved working conditions
- 1.5x higher work efficiency compared to manual welding
- Elimination of weld quality issues caused by human factors (manual welding typically has a ~20% defect rate, while automatic carriages have almost zero such defects, delivering ~200% higher overall benefits)
- Ensured consistent welding quality and stability
- No requirement for highly skilled operators
The carriage adopts a rack-and-pinion drive system and is widely used for horizontal and vertical welding, especially for medium and thick plates. It can also perform fillet, horizontal, and overhead welding by adjusting the position and angle of the welding torch. The integrated design (carriage body, oscillator, and control panel) allows welding while traveling on the track. The track is magnetically attached to the workpiece for quick, easy installation and removal.
Key Features
- Supports vertical, horizontal, and flat welding in multiple orientations
- Built-in weaving function with adjustable parameters: weaving mode, amplitude, speed, center position, and left/right dwell times
- Digital display for travel speed
- Left/right dwell time adjustment to prevent undercutting and incomplete fusion during weaving
- Torch automatically returns to the weld center when welding stops
- Automatic arc recovery function
- Adjustable current/voltage and spot wire feed functions
- Fast return function
Standard configuration includes a 1.5m track, which is lightweight, easy to move, and extendable by connecting additional sections.
Main Components
- DC Motor: Powers the carriage, powered by AC220V mains supply
- Guide Rail: Aluminum alloy track, standard length 1.5m, extendable
- Magnetic Rail Clamp: Secures the track with 60kg suction force. Equipped with a release handle for easy installation/removal
- Control Panel: The central control unit for all operations
- Clutch Handle: Engages/disengages the carriage drive. Half-clutch mode enables fast return
- X-Y Adjustment: Torch position adjustment range: ±20mm (X-axis), ±20mm (Y-axis)
- Oscillator Motor: High-precision DC motor, power 6W, drives the weaving motion
- Torch Bracket: Secures the torch with ±90° angle adjustment
Control Panel Operation Guide
- Weld/Non-Weld Switch: Select "Weld" to activate welding mode (welding starts when the "Start" button is pressed). Select "Non-Weld" for travel-only mode.
- Start Button: Starts carriage travel. If the "Weld/Non-Weld" switch is set to "Weld", welding will begin simultaneously.
- Stop Button: Immediately halts all carriage and welding operations.
- Travel Direction Switch: Selects forward or reverse travel direction.
- Travel Speed: Digitally displayed, max speed 1040mm/min (max digital display value: 999).
- Current Adjustment Knob: Clockwise rotation increases current (max scale: 500).
- Voltage Adjustment Knob: Clockwise rotation increases voltage (max scale: 48).
- Spot Feed Switch: Press and hold to feed wire temporarily.
- Weaving Speed Adjustment Knob: Clockwise rotation increases weaving speed (max 1520mm/min, max scale: 10).
- Weaving Amplitude Adjustment Knob: Clockwise rotation increases weaving width (max 20mm, max scale: 10).
- Left Dwell Time Adjustment Knob: Adjusts left dwell time (range: 0-25, increases clockwise).
- Right Dwell Time Adjustment Knob: Adjusts right dwell time (range: 0-25, increases clockwise).
- Center Offset Adjustment Knob: Clockwise rotation shifts the weaving center to the right; counter-clockwise shifts it to the left.
